About Me

Emanuel Halcomb is originally from New Jersey, but currently works and lives in Chicago, IL. He attended DePaul University with a BFA in Film and Television with a concentration in Sound Design, studying under Jeff Kliment, former Sound Department Manager at LucasArts. Halcomb has been doing post-production sound design for a little over 5 years, he has previously worked for years in the live music industry and also as an analog audio repair technician fixing high-end, vintage — turntables, amplifiers, stereos and reel to reel players. His sound design work is primarily done with Pro Tools/Izotope but he often uses Ableton and Logic as well when creating scores. He is a multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, mandolin, bass guitar, and piano but with knowledge and proficiency with other instruments as well. Emanuel’s goal when creating for a director or a client is to create sound design and/or music hyper-specific either to a time period, an emotion, or particular genre, whether in film or music along with providing extreme sonic clarity and hi-fidelity in the final mix.
